Mid Year already!

Well 2020, has been a crazy ride so far.  We hope you are keeping well. We have been busy here at ESA. There are many new titles/editions recently arrived, at the printers and soon to be printed. NCEA changes to address COVID-19 impact

13 May 2020 The Government has announced changes to NCEA, which give students more time to prepare for end of year assessment and help manage the impact of the disruption COVID-19 has caused to schooling. Immediate changes are: Examinations for NCEA and New Zealand Scholarship will now begin on 16 November instead of 6 November, and end on 9 December instead of 2 December. An updated examination timetable is available here. The submission date for subjects which require students to submit a portfolio is being extended to 12 November 2020. Level 2..... Here we come

A month ago, when I last wrote we were half way through Alert Level 4 Lockdown and all trying to get our head around our new “normal".ESA was given essential services toward the end of Level 4, so we were able to start working on the orders that were waiting, and getting stock out to service the trade online stores. Lockdown Learning

It’s been 2 weeks since New Zealand was placed into Alert Level 4 and we all started to realise our new normal which is living life in Lockdown.  For the staff at ESA we have been very lucky to be set up to work from home, with the exception of our warehouse staff.  We are not yet essential services so our warehouse door has been closed since the Wednesday 25th March.  The staff worked extremely hard to get as many books and orders out the door to our customers before we went into lockdown. What's new...

March already? No way! We have had a few new editions in lately including two of our best sellers. Year 10 Mathematics and Statistics Learning Workbook is updated - but what is new? It is bigger (by about 10%, with more exercises and investigations), brighter (now full colour with appealing photos and improved layout) and fully revised to maximise appeal and usefulness to students. The biggest update is to the statistics section, to introduce important concepts such as variability, inference and true probabilities.   Also just hot off the press is the new edition of Level 2 Biology Study Guide....
