Level 3 Informed Understanding of Literature Learning Workbook covers the NCEA Level 3 Achievement Standard 91479 (English 3.8) 'Develop an informed understanding of literature and/or language using critical texts'.

This Achievement Standard is based on The New Zealand Curriculum.

This workbook assists students in developing their understanding of literature or language texts. It does so by providing a clear outline of the steps involved in the process, including selecting suitable literary/language and critical texts, developing research questions, and applying their own research to the literary/language text(s) they have selected to study. Students ay choose to use the texts the have studied in their Year 13 classes, and an option is to look at various literary theories in relation to their chosen texts.
