Level 3 Making Connections 3.7 Learning Workbook covers the NCEA Level 3 Achievement Standard 91478 (English 3.7) 'Respond critically to significant connections across texts, supported by evidence'.

This Achievement Standard is based on The New Zealand Curriculum.

This workbook assists students in making connections between a combination of written, visual or oral texts, and then evaluating those connections.

It is based on two main exemplars: connections between texts by the same writer, and connections between texts based on similarity of setting. The activities in each exemplar section are designed to guide students in researching their chosen texts, then in finding, analysing and evaluating significant connections between the texts, Finally, students are assisted in the processed of planning, drafting and editing their response to the connections they have identified.

The Workbook features:

• relevant exercises to help students practise textual analysis
• brief notes on developing understanding of texts and the connections between texts
• an index giving easy access to important terms and definitions.
